Warranty vs. RGAs
If upon installation or receipt of any item, that item is found to be defective, please contact your Canplas Inside Sales Representative for authorization to return the item for credit. If an item ceases to function properly after a period of use, that item can be submitted for repair within its warranty term to the Warranty Department or Authorized Repair Center.

Warranty Policy Synopsis
If an item is under warranty and repairable, we repair the item and return it prepaid. If an item is under warranty but not repairable, we offer a replacement or credit.
If an item is not under warranty but is repairable, the item can be repaired for a fee.
If an item is not under warranty but is not repairable, the customer should purchase a new item.

Out of Warranty
Any item that surpasses its warranty terms (outlined on the next page) is no longer covered under warranty. Any item that has been used in a manner other than its intended use, or an item that has been tampered with, is void of warranty.
As a general rule, warranty terms do not extend after a warranty repair has been made. For example, if the motor in a central vacuum unit is replaced or repaired under warranty, the duration of the unit’s warranty is not extended for an additional 10 years.

Serial Number – Central Vacuum Power Units
A power unit serial number is made up of the following combination of numbers:
XX (month) – XX (year) – XXX (unit)
For example, serial number: 0604234
This unit was made in June of 2004 and was the 234th unit made.
Some serial numbers were made without the first “0”; for example” 999056
This unit was made in September of 1999 and was the 56th unit made.
The serial number can be found on a silver plate located on the back of the power unit.

Date Code – SuperHose II

The date code on the hose is located on the cuff. There is a circle of numbers with an arrow in the center, pointing at one of the numbers. This indicates the month of its manufacture. On either side of the arrow is a number. Together they indicate the year of manufacture.
This is an example of a date code. A hose with this date code would have been manufactured in May of 2005.

Purchase Date
Canplas uses the purchase date on an invoice to determine the beginning of the warranty period. If an invoice date is not available the warranty period is deemed to have begun on the date of manufacture. The date code or serial number for the unit may indicates that the item is no longer covered under warranty however, the product may still qualify for a warranty claim if the customer can provide a proof of purchase with an invoice date within the warranty terms.
